Adoption Fee: $150.00

My name is Stevie. The first thing you should know about me is that I am LOUD. The reason i am loud is because I cannot get enough attention. I will get out of my cage and step up just fine. I LOVE to ride on your should all day long if you'll let me. Remember though, i am loud, when I get excited, I could give you a head ache. If you have a porch or 3 season room, I am sure I could be as loud as I wanted. Most of all, I just want attention. I don't really play with toys and I am picky about different kinds of food. I bite from time to time, but it isn't real hard and it isn't because I angry. I am not real good with young kids.

Zebra Finches

Zebra finches are great starter birds for anyone. They are very common and inexpensive. The male has a cute little rythmic chirp, not really a song. They are colorful and full of energy. Sure to be non-stop enjoyment for everyone. If you put a nest in their cage, make sure you watch it carefully. Zebra finches reproduce fast, sometimes up to 6 babies at a time and as soon as the babies are out of the nest, they will lay more eggs. Feed them finch food, fruits and veggies and clean water every day.

Doves

Doves are great birds, althought typically a pretty messy bird to have in a home unless they are in a large cage. They have a very soothing coo and come in several different color combinations, mostly grey, white, and brown. A bird that is easily hand tamed to sit on your finger or pirch all day. They cannot bite and will reproduce fast, if not watch carefully, usually with 2 eggs at a time. Doves eat bird seed, fruits and veggies and need clean water every day.

Button Quail

About the size of a lemon, they are very fun to have. They only live on the bottom of their habitat and although they can fly, it is for short distances and very rare. They have a twill call and a soft peep. They can be agressive toward each other if kept in too small of a cage or too many per cage. They eat finch foods, chicken laying mash, veggies and fruit. They need to have clean water every day and an occasional dust bath in a bow of dirt is a good treat.

My name is Beeble. I am a green parrot with red and blue on my head. I am a little smaller than a double-yellow Amazon parrot. I am about 23 years old. I am a VERY affectionate parrot. I really like men better than women. I get VERY attached to my owner, so much that I throw yelling fits when I don't have attention 24/7. I get separate anxiety and I am very insecure that I will be left. I fly very well and love to get out of my cage. I come with my cage and a bird stand since I am so use to it. I like many kinds of foods, especially cashew nuts and enjoy toys, but most of all enjoy human attention. I say many words such as Hello, Well, Hello Beeble, I make an electronic toothbrush noise, laughing noises and may other weird noises. I talk very very quiet when I am happy, but I can get very loud when unhappy. I even cry when covered up because I am yelling. Right now you need to wear a glove when holding me because I can bite, but once I get use to my new home, I should be ok.

Goffin Cockatoo

My name is Bart. I am about 12 years old. I am a small Cockatoo. I love to get out of my cage and check things out. My owners say I get into all kinds of trouble left on my own. Everything in this world amazes me and I have to check it all out. I don't say anything, at least not yet. Occasionally I will make some background noise, but nothing remotely loud at all. I love new kinds of foods in my dish and most of all I LOVE TOYS. I haven't had much human contact in my life, so toys are my thing. I will step up on your hand, but I won't stay there, I love to fly and explore. I haven't bitten anyone since I have been at the rescue, but they wear a glove just in case and it doesn't bother me at all. If you put treats in my cage, I will easily go back in. I am sure I will get better with humans as soon as someone gives me some attention. I have a BIG cage right now and I would really like to have a BIG cage in my new home, especially if I cannot be out of the cage A LOT. Oh and I chew. I am sure to give you hours of laughs and fun!

Society Finch

Society finches are also great starter finches. They come in a wide variety of color variations, mostly browns, whites and some blacks. Their song is somewhat similar to a Zebra Finch. They reproduce rapidly in most any conditions. Feed them finch food, fruits and veggies and clean water every day.

Gouldian Finches

If you want color, this is your bird and boy are their a lot of variations to pick from. We haven't had a lot of these birds at the rescue, for obvious reasons. They are expensive and beautiful. The birds we have had made very little noise, loved fruits and were always the attraction in the finch aviaries. These birds will typically run you over $100 per bird when purchasing them. Feed them finch food, fruits and veggies and clean water every day.

Yellow Grosbeaks

These are large birds, about the size of a robin. They need to have room to fly, such as an aviary. They make a twill and a very quiet peep. They are a very neat bird and not very common. They cannot be tamed like a parrot, but are a neat addition to anyones finch or bird collection. They would probably not get along with other birds. Feed them finch food, fruits and veggies and clean water every day.

African Gray

Hello, my name is Jenks. I am a 4 year old African Gray Parrot. I love toys, people and dogs. I even bark like one all the time. I love to get into things and most of it is all in good fun. My owner I had before now left me behind when they moved out of their house. I guess they didn't want me around anymore. As luck would have it, after about 5 days in that house without food and water, someone heard me screaming. The police came and rescued me and brought me here where I now get all the food and water I ever needed. I was in pretty bad shape. I couldn't stand up at all, they had to feed me baby food with a spoon until I got better. My feathers are back and I can stand up, heck I even fly around. I want to find a home that will have fun with me. I am always on the go and really don't like to be left alone. I am afraid I might get left again. Oh and I can sing songs like the theme song from "Gilligan Island" and "Yo Ho a Pirates Life For Me". I don't bite at all, but I do chew things I am not supposed to.
